A Chartered Accountants and currently President of the Manchester Society of Chartered Accountants. Recently elected to the National Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Principal of Michael Colin Associates a firm specialising in providing non-executive and independent director services to medium sized organsations including those in the voluntary sector.

A Trustee and Hon. Treasurer of the National Library for the Blind and Treasurer elect of Breast Cancer Care.

A Trustee of The Charity Service and a number of other grant making trusts.

Member of the Audit Committee of the University of Manchester.

Following the death of his first wife, Ann (Bury’s first Breast Care nurse) from Breast Cancer, Michael has married again to Denise, a Chartered accountant who he first met when she became the first lady member of the Manchester Chartered Accountants Student’s Society of which he was Hon. Treasurer in 1967. Michael has three daughters and Denise two and there are nine grandchildren!
